Abstract

A simple test for the detection of pyrazinamide and cycloserine in urine has been described. The test is sensitive and can detect the presence of these drugs in urine for about 24 hours after administration of pyrazinamide 1 g. or cycloserine 0.5 g. Furthermore, the test is specific for these two drugs and does not suffer any interference from commonly used antituberculosis drugs like streptomycin, PAS, isoniazid, thiacetazone and ethionamide.
