Spinal tuberculosis [an extrapulmonary form of tuberculosis (TB)] is a degenerative disease of the spine caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, known as Pott’s disease. Infection is usually due to lymphematogenous spread from a primary focal area, such as the lung. It may also result from direct invasion of a paravertebral focus by lymphatic spread from paravertebral lymph nodes or the pleural space
